Neha Banka is an independent journalist based in Kolkata, India, and specialises in longform journalism and international reporting. Her work primarily focuses on the Asia-Pacific, particularly the Korean Peninsula, and Africa.

She also reports on rural India, borders, migration, trafficking, human rights, public health, Indigenous communities, climate and the environment. She has reported from several countries, producing original ground reports on a wide range of subjects. She has also been the recipient of several journalism fellowships over the years.

She graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and has worked in newsrooms in the U.S. and India. Her reporting has been published in international publications like Al Jazeera English, Haaretz, The Indian Express etc.
